We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account (email address, name or pen name), write and save books in the Studio, purchase a subscription or add-on, subscribe to our newsletter, or contact us for support. We also collect basic usage data such as pages visited and features used to improve the platform.
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve Practical Inkwell Story Studio; process payments and manage your subscription; send you service-related communications and writing tips; and respond to your comments and questions.
Your account information — including your email address, display name, and pen name — is used to personalize your studio experience, attribute your published works, and send you important account notifications. You can update your profile at any time from the Author Profile page.
Payments for Inkwell Pro subscriptions ($7.99/month) and one-time purchases (Living Scrapbook: $8.99, Premium Templates: $4.99) are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details on our servers. Your payment information is handled in accordance with Stripe's Privacy Policy at stripe.com/privacy.
The books, scrapbooks, and creative work you produce using Practical Inkwell are yours. We do not claim ownership of your content. Books you choose to publish to the Community Showcase are visible to other users; drafts are private to your account. When you sell a book through the Community Bookstore, you retain 98.5% of every sale — the platform retains 1.5% to cover transaction and hosting costs.
Practical Inkwell uses AI to provide writing coaching, hints, editing suggestions, and scrapbook assistance. When you use these features, the text you've written in your current section and book is sent to our AI provider to generate contextual responses. This data is used solely to generate your response and is not used to train AI models. AI-generated suggestions are creative aids — you are solely responsible for the final content you produce and publish.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data with service providers who assist in operating the platform — such as cloud hosting, payment processing (Stripe), and AI providers — under confidentiality agreements and solely for the purpose of providing the service.
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to maintain your login session and remember your preferences. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the address below. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Practical Inkwell is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.
